Development work 3- Maia Flore...

Developments...

For the development of the images I took in response to Maia Flores work, I chose to take them from outside again, but in a field which enhances the theme of unlikely and uncommon sleeping environments.
In the photographs below I also experimented using photoshop to distort the images even further, by mirroring the subjects with each but also decreasing the opacity so that they become slightly translucent which offers a sense of mystery and ambiguity. By taking the photos in a more textured landscape it allows the image to become slightly unclear and allows the viewer to add a meaning and a story to each image.
I also desaturated the images to make them less colourful and appear more dull as to not distract from the subjects and the background. In some of these developments I also experimented by adding in a third subject to emphasise the inspiration I gathered from Maia Flores imagery and make it my own. I did combinations of the subject with her eyes open and closed to represent symbols of sleep, and, in my opinion the effect of the decreased opacity offers a more dream like atmosphere to the images.
